Both of tehse events have been tempered with the global slow down but seeing happy people is a tonic in its own right. Thinking of Tonics we recently received this (edited) email:

On a recent trip to Key West (Via Cruise Ship) we rented on of your electric cars with GPS tour. What a godsend…..After getting off the cruise ship and making it to the street, that was all I could do. I’m a senior citizan and have bad knees. Renting one of your GPS tour electric car provided a hightlight to our Key West stop-over. Thanks again for a wonderful memory…..

As Christmas and the Holidays become another fond memory the pace of life here in Key West picks up. It is now that we come into our own with the subtropical weather that acts a magnet for those whose homes are in the Snowbelt. Now is the time to come down to visit your friends and families or make new friends while basking in the sunshine of our enchanting island. We are boasting a day time temperature of around 74F or 23 C. The nights are cooler – perfect for that stroll around town. The water is calm and tranquil the days beautiful and the natives are very friendly!

At this time of year we welcome many people from the North East – both Canadians and Americans as well as Europeans on extended holidays or vacations. There are still bargains to be found and if you wish to avoid the lines and hassle of the airports you can still drive to Key West! Pop a few CDs into the car and enjoy the scenic drive. One of the best ways is to have an audio book playing and the miles will evaporate as the story unfolds. I can assure you about this as I have taken such a course while driving the family to Key West from North Carolina. I do have to admit that the “story” was a popular one with all ages – about a young wizard called Harry……..but I digress. The purpose is to arrive relaxed enough so as to fully enjoy the difference in Latitude. The change is almost magical, slowly the need for speed disappears as tranquility – of a sort – takes over. Troubles are put in perspective, humanity is rekindled, relaxation is not a rude word, enjoyment is a natural event, and most of all Happiness is allowed to break loose! Eat, sleep, and be merry! Oh, and for all those over twenty one you can imbibe safely and responsibly as your home away from home is only a very short walk or taxi ride home! In these uncertain times we all need to focus on our sanity, and what better way to do that than to visit us in the Conch Republic. We may appear to be carefree and relaxed but beneath that quaint veneer of exterior there are brain cells racing around so yours do not have to race at all. Let us rebuild your energy and focus needed when – or if – you return to the mainland. This tonic does not need a doctor’s prescription but it is needed by so many! Grab a small amount of clothing – only one sweater for travelling – and take the plunge. Come on Down, as they say in the game shows, see why so many other people visit and re-visit us here in Key West!

With the rainy season almost past and the election compleated we can turn our attention to our new Guests arriving on the Disney Magic. We hosted uour first GPS Walking Tour Guests from the Disney Magic just few short weeks ago and have brilliant feedback. Then, last week due to poor weather elsewhere the ship added Key West as a surprise port call. We were all delighted to welcome her on short notice and were able to delight and entertain some of guests with stories about Key West’s colourful past vibrant present and of course yet to be determined future. We now look forward to the increaseing numbers of vacationers arriving here during the colder months in the frost belt!
